Inaugural Post

Welcome to our blog's first post.  And thank you for taking the time to read my (our) thoughts!  It's 2009, and I thought since we now have a baby (affectionately known as "the little focker") on the way, we should enter the blog world.  Seems like a good place to post family updates and pictures.

As I sit here typing, I am being watched closely by two puppies, who are really eyeing the Wheat Thins and cheese sitting on the table next two me that I'm using to stave off hunger, which is the beginning of all things nauseating.  Not fun.  At 25 weeks, I would have thought the whole "morning" sickness thing would have finally passed.  And yet, it rears its ugly head all too frequently.  It is better.  Really.  But definitely not gone.  Sometimes I think this child is trying to torture me.  That could be a bad sign.  Surely not this helpless, tiny little child...

Anyway, here are some pictures of Ringo & Lucy, who are the children of the house for the time being.  (Aren't they in for a big surprise, although I swear, Ringo knows...)

That's Ringo on the left, and Lucy on the right.  It was a bit of a challenge getting these guys to sit still while facing away from the camera!  We used this photo to tell our families about our pregnancy.

Here are my favorite "baby dog" photos:

Ringo, in May of 2003, right after we adopted him from the shelter in Phoenix.  Poor guy... he had a bad case of kennel cough.

Lucy, in June of 2006, on the night we "adopted" her from Erika & Steve's friends who were trying to find her a good home.  She was so tiny!

Here's one of both of them in Phoenix before we discovered grooming.  I know, they are so shaggy and cute, especially Ringo.  But oh, the hair!  Everywhere!

This is one from Dallas that Brian sent me while I was working in Arkansas last year.  They missed me!

  1. Hey Sis!!! I've discovered your blog and now I'm officially a stalker. :) But I don't think that counts if we're related. Love you mucho and love your stories - writing is cathartic!
