SOLD! and Cousin pictures

We are now "under contract"!  Assuming all goes well with appraisal and inspection, our house will be sold as of February 24th.  This happened so fast - the house wasn't even technically  on the market yet!  What an answer to prayer.  No more showings, no more worrying about the timing of it all (the new owner has agreed in the contract to let us rent it back from him until our new house is ready) or having to move twice!  Yipee!!!

In other news, we had a wonderful evening with Brent, Erika, and Harper Saturday night.  Brent is continuing to heal and looked so much better than when I last saw him (in the ICU!).  Harper is growing so much - she is over 5 months old now!  Here is a cute picture of the girls in their matching onesies with their intitials (thank you Aunt Erika!).
Here are some more pictures of Adelyn taken that night...
Finally, here is a Addy wearing Mommy's baby clothes (or Aunt Jacque's - we can't remember!)
Have a great week everyone!

Recent Happenings

It's been a busy week in the House Household!  First we are so grateful and thankful that Brian's brother Brent is recovering well from the car accident.  We appreciate all your prayers and ask for continued prayers for healing.  We have all been reminded of how precious life is.

On the "home" front, we are negotiating with a potential buyer and will hopefully have a contract on our house soon... more on that when it's official!
We had a walk-through with our builder today at the new house - they are in an inspection phase, so not too much more has happened since my last photos.  He hopes to be doing installation and dry-walling next week.  Bricking comes soon too.  Wow!
Here is Adelyn sitting on the floor of her new room... We'll have to take a follow-up picture of her there after we move in.  She's so excited to finally have her own room!

They have done some clearing of the land on the lower portion of our lot and also behind our property toward the creek... they got rid of a lot of the undergrowth and it looks great. Someday soon we  may put a swing set down there!

The backyard isn't that deep, but we have a fairly wide side yard for lots of playing!

Exciting News!

Ok, well it's not earth-shattering or anything, but we had our first house showing today, even before the house is technically listed on the market.  We are praying for the right buyer to come along soon!

Avocado

It's hump day!  I'm looking forward to the weekend - I get to spend the whole time with Addy since Brian will be in a conference during the days.  Our house goes on the market too, so pray that we will have lots of interest and a buyer with the right price!  The house is looking great - our realtors have a professional "stager" come in as part of their service, and she really helped to motivate us to make it look as good as possible!

Here are some great pictures that Aunt Erika took on Sunday during the Cowboy game...  Erika makes great guacamole (I have to find people to eat guac with since Brian doesn't like it, so I never make it at home), and we saved Addy some plain mashed avocado to have for her lunch.

She enjoyed hanging out at T-Pa & Mimi's and playing with her rings.  She was concentrating!  Her eyes are as blue as ever - I'm starting to believe that's going to be their permanent color...

More House Progress

Once again, I couldn't resist and went by the house today.  Actually, that is twice this week already, since we took Jim & Kathy by on Sunday (after the Cowboy's heartbreaking playoff loss - I really thought they could pull out a win).  I just can't believe how quickly it is going up!  The have put in all the plumbing, electrical wiring, and gas lines.  The roof is finished, and now they are putting up trim.  We are going to do a formal walk-through again before the dry wall goes up, so I'm sure I'll have more new pictures soon.  I panicked briefly when I saw the color of the trim (yellow) thinking that it looked really bad and that couldn't be what we had picked out... until I realized that it hasn't been painted yet!  Silly me!

Here are some pictures so you can see the progression... from January 6

to January 13

to today January 19

And from the side...on January 13 compared to today.

Here is the family room (looking through the wall into our bedroom)

And the kitchen with preliminary wiring/plumbing for the island

And looking upstairs... cool to see all the duct work.  Even the water heaters are in! I didn't go up today because there were workmen there, but we went upstairs on Sunday - so neat to walk into Addy's room for the first time!

And the view from the master bedroom into the bath and closet (and the garage in the very back)
And finally, I leave you with a picture of the cutie-petutie herself... decked out in her Yellow Submarine Beatles onesie:

House Progress

I couldn't resist, and went by the house today to take a look and see if any progress had been made. Wow! Was I surprised. The roof is going up. There are shingles in the driveway. The windows are in place. They were working on the plumbing while I was there. So neat to imagine the possibilities for each room.  I can't believe this is going to be our house!

Here are some new pictures...From the front

The two main upstairs windows will be Adelyn's room :-)

View as you walk through the front door

From the kitchen looking into the family room.  They were putting in the fireplace today!

From the door to the patio off of the kitchen, looking toward the door from our bedroom

View from the back porch

And I leave you with a picture of this confection...  This shawl was a baby gift to me as a child!

This week, she decided to start working on her "c/k" and "g" sounds!
And everything is "bouncy-bouncy" - thanks to the fun hanging bouncy seat loaned to us by Aunt Erika and Uncle Brent, she now tries to bounce anytime she's upright!

If These Walls Could Speak...

We have a frame!  It was so much fun to walk through the rooms and say, "this is the view from the family room", and "look where the bathtub will be"!  I have to say though, I got a little sentimental while walking through today - thinking all of the memories to be made there.  May it be a home full of love...

Random Tidbits and Smiles!

Did I mention they poured our foundation???  I will post pictures ... just as soon as I get to see it with my own eyes!  Brian went by last week, but couldn't take a picture.  Something about a street sweeper, or a trash truck, or something...

And, I have snow envy!  All of my side of the family has gotten major winter snowstorms this year!  Yes, even in Oxford, where they've gotten over a foot TONIGHT!  Jacque called earlier to say they were going out to build a snowman!  I know, be careful what you wish for...  At least it finally feels like winter here, even if there's no white stuff!

Tonight I have been reflecting on recent blessings.  I am truly so blessed and so grateful, and my heart is full.  Mostly from the twinkle in those two little blue eyes that love to gaze at me... oh, and that melt your heart smile!

Adelyn's 8 Month Photo Shoot

Addy had her 8-month old photo shoot today!  It's hard to believe she is already 8 months old...  We don't have to prop her up anymore!

We started her out wearing a sweet pink dress that was given to me at about her age, along with my baby bracelet.

Papa John taught her to do this!

Here is the picture of me wearing the same dress in February of 1976 at about 7 months old.  She definitely has more hair, but I sure do see my face sometimes in her smile!

And of course, the requisite Bumbo pictures...

Compare those to her in the Bumbo at 3 months!

And the requisite glider pictures...

And finally, outside to finish the shoot...

Hopefully she won't inherit her mom's "picture face"!

That's my sweetie :-)

Can you tell I'm a proud Mom?
Have a great week everyone!
