Saturday Family Time and Playing in the Backyard

We had fun playing with Uncle Brent, Aunt Erika, and Cousin Harper yesterday.  Erika and I bought matching shirts for the girls a few months ago, so we dressed them alike and took some fun pictures!

Here they are "giving kisses" - love Harper's open-mouthed kiss!
Adelyn loves to run around in the backyard, and so, by the way, do the doggies!

We are loving the cooler fall weather!  Happy Weekend!

Animal Sounds and "Hey Baby"

We finally recorded some of Adelyn's animal ("amahl") sounds and latest words.
She can now make sounds for doggy, kitty cat, lion, cow, sheep, snake, bird, turkey, rooster, elephant, pig, and horse.  They are not all on this video, but here is a sampling... Enjoy.  Oh, and she also has learned her name, thanks to a little help from cousin Harper who learned to say "Addy" first and then taught her how to say it!
She's also learned to say "hey baby" and "hey now" and "hey girl".  Her latest is "hey ya'll" - taught to her by her Daddy, of course.  I'll have to get a video of that one soon.  Next, I'll have to teach her "hey is for horses!"

Halloween Weekend

We have had a fun week!  The hospital's annual pumpkin decorating contest was last Friday, and the Richardson Physician Alliance entered for all of our practices.  There is a "Mama pumpkin" with 10 baby pumpkins.  You can pick mine out on the far left.

This one was probably my favorite!
On Friday night, we drove out to Beth & Jarod's new lake house on Possum Kingdom Lake.  We got to see them, as well as Mimi and T-Pa and Brent, Erika, and Harper. It was a fun getaway!
On Saturday morning, we got the girls dressed up in their Halloween costumes for pictures.
One cute ladybug and one cute flower!
Adelyn's not too sure what to think about the whole dressing up in costume thing!
But she thought Harper looked pretty funny!

 I love this toothy grin!
They are not usually so serious!

Adelyn  was completely enamored by the lake, aka the large "bath".  She just wanted to stare at the water.
 She also loved the trees!
"Hi Mom and Dad, am I cute or what?"
Jarod took us on a fabulous boat tour of the lake.  Addy loved the wind in her hair - no surprise there - she's always loved the wind!
She and Harper could hardly move in their life jackets.
 Excitement!
Adelyn and Harper really loved being in the bow of the boat where they could see the lake.  Here they are holding on to one another - so sweet!
Back home, she got to wear her Halloween PJs all day on Sunday.  Lately, she's been very proud of herself for bringing us items she recognizes are not toys - such as remote controls and phones.  Here she is with a tape measure...
Finally, on Halloween evening we went trick-or-treating at Kim & Andrew's and Mimi Jo and Uncle Carl's homes.  Addy's favorite part of the evening was a Halloween cookie from Mimi Jo.  Isn't she just adorable?

Happy November!  Three more months until the next Baby Hughes makes his or her appearance!  I will have to blog about our house updates soon.  The kids' rooms are now painted, and I am having fun decorating!
