Holton - Age Two Months

Can it be?  Holton is already two months old?  Wow, how the time is flying by (although I will admit, sometimes it doesn't seem like it at 3AM!).

Things I want to remember about Holton at 2 months of age:

-As my mom says, he really is a "whatever" baby... he is pretty much content in most circumstances and is easily comforted when he does cry.

-He is just beginning to smile and does so with a big gummy open-mouthed grin

-He is starting to make vocalizations (other than crying!), and especially loves to chit chat while lying on his changing table

-Like his big sister, he loves the side-to-side swing

-He can stick his tongue out much farther than Addy ever did

-His eyes are bright blue (will they change???)

-He is sleeping anywhere from 3 hours (on a not so good night) to a record 7 hours (on our best night so far) at night right now.  Sometimes during the day, he is ravenous and wants to eat all the time!  I think he may be going through another growth spurt!

-He loves the "butt pat" - to soothe him

-He still loves to cuddle.  Having him curled up on my chest asleep is just the best feeling in the world.

-He smiles and makes the cutest faces in his sleep.  Sometimes I feel like I am having a flashback to Adelyn - I recognize the same faces in Holton

-He has an uncanny ability to sense when I am about to sit down for a meal and let's me know right away that he wants to eat first.

-He has the most wonderful clean baby smell!

I initially tried to take Holton's 2 month pictures with Adelyn in the room... She was in every picture, so I had to postpone until her naptime.  However, I thought this one was too cute.  She loves her baby brother and is so sweet with him.  Whenever he's lying on the floor, she wants to lie down with him.

Can you tell these two are siblings?  Adelyn is actually three weeks younger in her picture, but I think they look so much alike!

 I love you Little Man!  Happy Two Months of Life so far!

Dallas Aquarium and Arboretum

We took two fun family outings in the beginning of March before I went back to work.  The first was to the Dallas Aquarium, which we had never visited before.  I was surprised at how many types of birds and fish they had.  Adelyn loved getting to feed some of the "birdies" blueberries, and she's been talking about birds and fishes ever since.

 Next, we made our annual spring visit to Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum.  It was still a little early for the azaleas, but the daffodils and tulips were in full bloom and as colorful as ever.  Addy walked most of the way through the gardens and especially enjoyed all the fun castles they had this year.  Of course, we took tons of pictures, although most of them were action shots of her because it's so hard to get her to hold still and pose!

 

 

  Addy also loved the small petting zoo!
