Brick & Overalls (nothing to do with each other!)

Here are some house updates... this first picture is the first picture of our house with SNOW - taken a few weeks ago on 2/13/10.

And the latest from this weekend - BRICK!

And our living room - so weird to see this huge pile of stones in the middle of the room.  The stone mason was hard at work!

And finally, the cabinets - stain still drying.  Wow! Love the maple wood...

And, the pictures you were really waiting for... Addy looked so cute today, we just had to take a few pictures.  Extra points for anyone who recognizes the outfit (hint: think back about 34 years!)

We thought the Cowgirl Hat was the perfect accessory for this outfit. (We do live in Texas now!)  Thanks Aunt Jo!

She is crawling everywhere now, and interested in everything!  I'll post some crawling pictures and video soon.  She has learned the word "no" though, and at least pauses before continuing to do whatever I'd rather she didn't do!  I'll post some clapping pictures soon too - that is her new favorite trick.  She is so proud of herself for learning that one!

Where Has February Gone???

It's been a busy week in the Hughes Household.  Today, we spent a wonderful morning with our close friends Kendall & Lisa and their family and friends as we celebrated their son's baptism.  How special to have such a wonderful gathering of people!

We are amazed at the progress on the house - this month is flying by, and our current house closing is coming up this week.  Can't believe we will be moving again soon!  Estimates are early to mid-April right now.  At the new house, brick and stone are going up outside...

Inside, all the cabinetry and bannisters have been stained, and painting is nearly complete.  The wood floors are in.  They were painting baseboards today.  The interior doors are up too.  Wow!

Adelyn's room update - now painted... although I'm already dreaming about re-painting it something girly!  We'll see!

Snow and Cold!

Blogger is acting up this morning, so I'm not sure if this post will turn out...
We had snow on Thursday! I think the official total at DFW was something like 12.5 inches! Had to take Adelyn out for a few of the heavy wet flakes to land on her face, and to give her her first taste of snow! However, we mostly enjoyed watching it from the warmth of our home (thank goodness our electricity stayed on!). She liked feeling the cold glass of the door on her lips! Enjoy...

Surprise - Adelyn is crawling, and 9 months old!

It's been a fun week! Addy crawled for the first time on Monday - I will try to post the video here soon. And our home inspection went well, so we are well on the way to having our house SOLD!!!
