Wow, it's hard to believe it's already July! With the heat we've been having, though, I'm already looking forward to late September! It has been hot, hot, hot!!! So we have been trying to stay cool and enjoy the chaos that comes with having a 2 year old and a 5 month old!
Adelyn can be a very determined child. One day a few weeks ago, she decided she wanted to wear these doll shoes (from my old Cabbage Patch doll - lol!), and she insisted on wearing them around the house in spite of the fact that I'm quite sure they were hurting her feet (she had red marks on her feet when we finally got them off of her!)
You can see, she was quite proud of herself!
A lazy weekend hanging out on the sofa getting "work" done!
Holton's Five Month Photos
He has really become quite the charmer, although don't get me wrong, he has a perfectly good set of lungs that he can use to WAIL, and I mean, WAIL, when he chooses! But overall, he's a very happy kid with a winning smile. He will giggle occasionally, but we haven't had another good laugh in a while. I still need to post that video!
Everyone thinks he is teething on the bottom front, but if so, they are the slowest teeth ever to grow in. I think he just chews on his hands like most babies, but I bet his teeth come later, similar to his big sister (her first tooth was after 11 months!).
The reclining pose...
"Hello, here I am... did someone call?"
Little miss...
These two are becoming fast friends.
Last weekend, we visited Brian's cousin Laura's house and got to see that side of the family, including Laura & Richard and their kids, Mimi Glenna and Uncle Bubba, and Scott and Sawyer visiting from New Mexico (Britney was home with Maverick who had a stomach bug).
Addy loves, loves, loves to swing (Note to self: must get swingset for backyard)... and she loved Laura's swings... didn't want to leave the swingset the whole evening, even though it was so hot and she was soaked with sweat!
Mimi Glenna and Holton
Glenna loved bonding with Holton and actually got him to sleep, which is not always an easy thing to do!
A rare moment away from the swings!
She was finally lured away by a cold drink!
We had a quiet day at home on July 4th, wearing festive red, white, and blue.
Peak-a-boo! Here I am!
Holton's first Independence Day
The best picture we could get of the two of them - Addy did not want to pose for the camera.
Up close and personal. Bright blue eyes! Her eyes and Holton's are a very similar color.
Although we haven't gotten a swingset yet, we did get an inflatable pool. Addy was so excited, even though she is actually very cautious about getting in the water.
"Oops! Daddy got me!"
Holton chillin' on the porch...
All warm and toasty, he soon could not resist a nap!
Meanwhile, Addy finally sat down and played in the water. Then we couldn't get her to come inside!
Coming up soon... Holton's first food!
